The Retreat
You know that feeling of running — not towards anything in particular, just running. Alarm, commute, inbox, meetings, repeat. You're doing everything right and yet something feels quietly, persistently off.
You're not broken. You're just buried.
Beyond the Noise is a small, intimate retreat held on the south-east coast of Zanzibar — one of the most quietly healing places on earth. Five days of breath, rest, gentle self-exploration, and the warm Indian Ocean.
You'll be staying in a private villa with your own pool and secluded garden, just a few steps from the beach with open ocean views. Every meal is prepared fresh daily by a private chef — breakfast and dinner shared together as a group, unhurried and nourishing. Tucked away from the world, the villa has a quietness to it that sets the tone from the moment you arrive. This is the backdrop. It matters.
This is not a programme packed with activities. It is a carefully held space where you slow down enough to hear yourself again.
Each day begins with pranayama — the ancient practice of breath — to release what you've been carrying and ground you in the present moment. From there, mornings move gently into workshops that invite self-reflection, emotional expression, and a deeper understanding of who you are beyond your job title and your to-do list.
Afternoons are yours. Rest, swim, float in the pool, simply be.
Evenings close with a different restorative practice each day — sound healing, cacao ceremony, yoga nidra, meditation — leaving you nourished and at peace before you sleep.
Woven throughout are moments of Zanzibar itself — kayaking through the mangroves at sunset, a farm-to-plate experience, an ocean view pottery class, and an evening of painting and macramé. Our excursions are not sightseeing — they are extensions of the practice. Breathwork, meditation, and presence are woven into every outing, so the whole island becomes part of your journey inward.
Zanzibar has a magic of its own. Its slower pace, its warmth, its simplicity will do as much for you as any practice we offer.
The Five Days
Day One
We begin by simply landing. Settling in, meeting one another, and setting an intention for the days ahead. There is nowhere to be and nothing to achieve.
Day Two
Through movement, breath, and play we begin to shake off the tension stored in the body. This is lighter than it sounds — and more powerful than you might expect.
Day Three
Using art and gentle somatic practice, we create space for emotions that rarely get airtime in everyday life. You don't need to be an artist. You just need to be willing to show up.
Day Four
A workshop exploring the difference between who you've been conditioned to be and who you actually are. Quietly, this tends to be the day that shifts things.
Day Five
We integrate everything — sharing, reflecting, and leaving with practices, tools, and a clarity you can carry back with you into daily life.

Beyond the Villa
A visit to a working farm where your meal is grown, harvested and prepared before you. A reminder of simplicity, nourishment and the quiet joy of eating well.
An evening on the water, paddling through ancient mangroves as the sun sets. We pause for breathwork and meditation on the water before gathering for a sunset dinner.
Hands in clay, eyes on the horizon. Pottery is meditation in motion — a practice of presence, imperfection and letting something take shape in its own time.
An unhurried evening of making at the villa. Paint, weave, create — not to produce something perfect, but to remember that expression itself is enough.

Who We Are
Holistic Psychotherapist & Lead Facilitator
Raveen is a holistic psychotherapist, pranayama teacher, and founder of Root To Crown Therapy. Trained in psychotherapy, compassion-focused therapy, clinical hypnotherapy, trauma release movement, and meditation, she brings rare clinical depth to the retreat space.
Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not about fixing what is broken — it is about coming home to what was always whole. Zanzibar found Raveen during one of her own most tender chapters, and what she experienced there — the slowness, the joy, the simplicity, the peace — is precisely what she wants to offer you.
Wellness Retreat Curator & Co-Facilitator
Abeer is a wellness retreat curator with deep roots in Zanzibar, where she grew up. With a background in travel and years of experience organising transformational retreats on the island, she brings an intimate knowledge of Zanzibar and an instinct for creating experiences that feel both seamless and soulful.
Her warmth and genuine love for the island and its people are woven into every detail of Beyond the Noise.
